Completed Projects and Labs

This project was to analyze different materials to be used for a roof rack through Fusion360. Once I found the most efficient material I created a business and a one-pager to pitch my design.

In this project the objective was to create a puzzle with three of my classmates, we each made a piece, and then 3D print it. We researched different types of fits and how to ensure our puzzle fit and stayed together. We also did a cost analysis for each piece.

2 / JPL Wastebasket Challenge

The JPL NASA 2023 Invention Challenge was to place a piece of paper into a wastebasket in the fastest time. There were many constraints our device had to follow like having seven or more consecutive activities where the end of one set off the next, utilizing three different energy sources including gravity and spring, and many more.

3 / Capstone Project

For my Capstone Project I tackled the problem of not knowing the quality of drinking water, specifically when on the go. I designed, built, and tested a prototype water bottle that contains a conductivity device on the side of it. The conductivity device measures the concentration of conductive ions in the water and assesses how polluted it is- there will be a maximum level of this for safe drinking water which will be listed on the side of the water bottle. It is intended to have a lid which contains a straw and filter mechanism as well. The body of the water bottle was 3D printed using PLA filament... keep in mind this is just a prototype and the actual product would be stainless steel.
